The Client

Testsigma is an AI-driven test automation platform. It had a strong product and an active blog, but organic traffic had sat at about 8,900 monthly visitors for a long time.

Test automation is a crowded niche, and the site’s 249 referring domains were not enough to compete for its main commercial terms.

The Plan

After several strategy sessions we agreed on two parallel tracks: a sustained link building campaign from our side, and a big step-up in publishing from Testsigma’s team. Each track makes the other work better.

1. 575 links from DR50–93 sites

Over 23 months we secured 575 backlinks at a steady 25 links per month. About 80% were niche edits and 20% were guest posts on industry sites.

Two link types were used. Niche edits are links added to articles that already exist on a publisher’s site; guest posts are new articles written for that site. In both cases the site’s editor reviewed the placement and could refuse it. Our fee covers the outreach work and any placement fee the publisher charges.

Sites in the link profile included HubSpot, Namecheap, G2, BigCommerce, OpenCart, FlippingBook and Envato.

2. An anchor map built around 25 keywords

  • 60% of links → blog pages, to lift content visibility and rankings
  • 30% → key landing pages, where trials and demos convert
  • 10% → the homepage (mostly with branded anchors), to keep the anchor profile natural

3. 40+ new articles a month

The site had authority potential but too few pages to rank. Testsigma’s team responded with 40+ quality posts per month, which gave us more internal linking options and gave Google more pages to rank.

Month by Month

Months 1–3: Stabilize. 25 links per month ended the flat period; the first upward movement appeared within weeks.

Months 4–12: Accelerate. 25 links per month, combined with the new content schedule, kept traffic climbing.

Months 13–23: Compound. 25 links per month, now aimed at more competitive keywords, carried the site to 256K monthly visitors.

The Results

  • Organic traffic: 8.9K → 256K monthly visitors (+2,776%, about 28x)
  • Ranking keywords: 8,780 → 58,121
  • Domain Rating: 53 → 74
  • Link profile: 575 links from DR50–93 domains, starting from 249 referring domains

This is what happens when link building and content production pull in the same direction for almost two years: steady growth rather than a one-off spike.

“Sheikh Shadi helped us create a new link building campaign designed for SEO to drive our traffic, with proper engineering around keywords, images, and product categories.”

About the Data

Traffic, ranking-keyword, Domain Rating and referring-domain figures are Ahrefs estimates, measured at campaign start and end. Ahrefs traffic is a modelled estimate of organic visits, not the client’s own analytics, so treat the numbers as directional.
